Content

Monographic exhibition “Dispositions”, dedicated to the work of the Brussels architecture office AgwA. The exhibition highlights six recent projects – completed and ongoing - and provides a glimpse into the architecture office’s practice across a time spam of almost 20 years.

The 6 projects address various themes that exist within the realm of architectural practice. The exhibition presents authentic documents and working models in their initial state, revealing the creative process that took place within the office.

Office

AgwA is an architectural office owned by Benoît Burquel, Harold Fallon and Benoît Vandenbulcke and was founded in 2003 in Brussels. The architects design simple, precise and functional architecture that is adaptable over time and allows users to

make the buildings their own. The office’s oeuvre mainly consists of conversions of existing (public) buildings, and includes the conversion of the ECAM site in Saint-Gilles, the redesign of Charleroi’s Palais des Expositions in collaboration with Jan De Vylder and Inge Vinck (architetcts jdviv) and the development of a water sports centre in Péronnes in collaboration with Artingenering. The added value of AgwA’s architecture always lies in the way that it engages with the social and spatial needs that exist within society, and this manifests itself on a contextual, structural, programmatic, economic and ecological level.

Publication

Dispositions is accompanied by a publication offering a complementary look at the office’s practice, co-published by A+ Architecture in Belgium, Bozar and Walther and Franz König (Cologne).
