Wallonie-Bruxelles Architectures est une agence de promotion culturelle et économique des architectes de Bruxelles et de Wallonie sur la scène internationale.
The existing building was built as a hotel in the 1960’s and was bought by the University a decade later to become student housing. It contrasts strangely with its immediate environment, both in terms of the scale of the building and in the choice of materials and architectural expression. It was decided to bring the building to its framework and to rethink it from scratch.
The aims of the renovation are to simplify the existing volume, to optimize its envelope, to reorganize the internal spaces, to replace and upgrade all of its technics and finally to rethink its image.
