Biennial of architecture and landscape in Versailles
After ‘Man, City, and Nature’ in 2019, the Île-de-France region is continuing its reflection with ‘Land and cities’, which will serve as the theme of the second edition of the Biennale d'architecture et de paysage (Bap!). This will take place between 13 May and 13 July 2022 in Versailles.Ten core exhibitions designed around the link between land and cities will punctuate Bap! 2022. Topics to be uncovered include a new perspective on soils and local resources and new practices for more sustainable architecture and landscapes. The ‘Visible/Invisible’ exhibition is worth mentioning. It explores contemporary architectural forms that may arise from a return to the rational use of materials and energy. The National School of Architecture of Versailles will be deployed at the exceptional Petite Écurie and will host this exhibition, which is broken down into three stages:- a ‘monumenta’ listing the region's material and energetic resources
- a testimonial to new practices by more than 40 local and international architects in the Nave, including Eva Le Roi, Simon Boudvin and Baukunst
- free workshops (registration required) throughout the Biennale, during which audiences will be encouraged to appropriate, manipulate and experiment with the resources under the supervision of experts.
