Let's Meet Yves Weinand from Mister Emma in Lausanne

Architect and philosopher, Yves Weinand combines art and science with passion. His innovative wood construction research results in ingenious and majestic buildings.

The film highlights the research that Yves Weinand coordinates within the department of wood construction research (Ibois) at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and shows a series of constructions that the architect has realized during his career: A water tower (Beersel, Belgium), a chapel (Saint-Loup, Switzerland), the Pavilion of the Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne, the Benches of the Cathedral of Lausanne, the Parliament of Vaud (Lausanne, Switzerland), a carpentry (Manternach, Luxembourg) and a railway station (Rossinière - Switzerland).

The documentary follows Yves Weinand's work through his involvement in publications such as the Cahiers de l'Ibois, during conferences including the launch of the Wood for Bauhaus program in Paris.

Finally, the feature film paints a portrait of a character inhabited by his work during meetings at his home or while traveling abroad.

The documentary will also be screened on October 12, 2022 at the Théâtre de Vidy in Lausanne.
