© WBA
This is the first monograph devoted to Simone Guillissen-Hoa.

Caroline Mieropy recounts the extraordinary life of this Eurasian woman, activist, resistance fighter, deportee, single mother and self-employed entrepreneur.

In the book, Caroline Mierop recounts the extraordinary personal and professional life of Simone Guillissen-Hoa: her friends and her loves, her doubts and her advances, her clients and her achievements (illustrated with previously unpublished archive documents). The author's texts are accompanied by seven "souvenir portraits" written by Jean-Pierre Hoa, the architect's son.

"Born in Peking in 1916 to a Chinese father, an engineer, and a Polish-Jewish mother, a writer, Simone Guillissen-Hoa went to school in Paris at the age of 12, studied in England and then in Belgium, graduating in Brussels in 1938, and took part in the architectural adventure of the 20th century."
