Exhibition Baukunst: Performance & Performativity

© WBA

BAUKUNST Performance & Performativity is the first monographic exhibition dedicated to the Brussels architectural firm BAUKUNST, founded by Adrien Verschuere in 2008.

In parallel to its architectural practice, BAUKUNST is active in the fields of teaching and research. The many interdisciplinary collaborations that the firm has been involved in since the start of its business are evidence of a resolutely dialogue-based position in the design and construction process behind the projects developed.

The exhibition BAUKUNST Performance & Performativity illustrates this process through the projects exhibited and thrusts us into the world of BAUKUNST, with its artistic, philosophical and technical references. Architecture is presented at the crossroads between art and science.

BOZAR and A+ are delighted to co-produce this second exhibition from a series of monographic exhibitions dedicated to Belgian architecture, organised at the beginning of this year. It will be accompanied by a monographic publication by Koenig Books.

Curators: Adrien Verschuere, Roxane Le Grelle and Iwan Strauven
In collaboration with Lara Molino and Lorenzo Vicari

On this occasion, Wallonie-Bruxelles Architectures is organising a press trip and hosting cultural operators.

With the support of the Architecture Unit of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation which is delighted with the choice of BAUKUNST. Its policy has actually always been to promote the emergence of young architects by giving them access to public architectural contracts. It is under this policy that BAUKUNST won the project for the sports centre La Freineuse in Spa.
