Francois Schuiten: exhibition Revoir Paris at Cité Chaillot
The future from the past. This exhibition at the Cité de l'Architecture celebrates the publication of part one of a new album from graphic novel authors François Schuiten and Benoît Peeters. The graphic novel depicts life in Paris far in the future. The exhibition also takes a look at the futuristic design of the Arts et Métiers metro station in Paris, a kind of underground Nautilus complete with curved copper walls and portholes. It also looks at the recently discovered novel by Jules Verne Paris in the Twentieth Century, and the Grand Paris project.Far from a traditional style exhibition, François Schuiten has dreamed up its scenic layout, in close collaboration with Benoît Peeters. The exhibition uses modern techniques to bring the space to life in all its dimensions, and associates the "future of the past" with cutting edge achievements. Our cities and our society is in need of a utopia. This exhibition should provide an opportunity to dream of a future for Paris, far beyond any technical, political and economic constraints.
