Public Contracting Authority Prize of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation
On October 8th, in the presence of among others, architects and partners, the Minister of Culture will announce the winners of the " Public Contracting Authority Prize 2013" and unveil the book Wallonie-Bruxelles Architectures Inventories # 1 Inventories 2010-2013, two initiatives due to the architecture cell of the Federation Wallonia -Brussels. The CIVA will also present the 2013 program of the "Day of the Wallonia -Brussels architecture", which will take place on October 20th 2013.
The place chosen for this event is not trivial : the Heyvaert Centre is indeed one of the winning projects of the first edition of the "Public Contracting Authority Prize" in 2011 (Municipality of Saint- Jean Molenbeek / Pierre Blondel Architects).
15 applications were received between 1 March and 20 August.Launched in 2011, this biennial award is designed to recognise a project backer and a best practice applied within the framework of a public architecture project within the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, that stand out due to the exemplary nature of the process implemented and/or the constancy of the approach adopted by the developer.
An independent jury met on August 30 to appoint the nominees and the winners will be announced by the Minister on October 8th .
This award is organized in partnership with the Union of Towns and Municipalities of Wallonia , the Association for the City and the municipalities of the Brussels Capital Region , the Association of Architects and the Belgian architectural journal A +.
