As part of the exhibition New seasons, self-portraits of a territory, the Bordeaux-based architecture center arc en rêve is presenting the work of the Atelier Micromegaslab from the Faculty of Architecture La Cambre Horta at the Université libre de Bruxelles.

Adopting a critical stance, the Micromegaslab studio questions the city through an approach that is both experimental and contextual.

For this project, around sixty students explored the Bordeaux territory at two scales. On the one hand, they developed “sensitive cartographies”, the result of collective explorations around themes defined in workshops. On the other hand, they focused on architectural fragments inspired exclusively by existing Bordeaux buildings.

The ambition: to grasp the deep dynamics that shape the city of Bordeaux. How do infrastructures influence uses? How do transformations of the built fabric alter social practices? Which spaces-in-waiting, interstitial or void spaces, offer new opportunities for intervention?
