On the occasion of the release of Architectures Wallonie-Bruxelles Inventaires #5, the Institut Culturel d’Architecture Wallonie-Bruxelles, the Cellule architecture of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, and Wallonie-Bruxelles Architectures invite you to a launch evening on Thursday 28 May 2026 at Campus CERIA (MSA, V+ and 51N4E), a site featured in this edition and resonating with the themes explored in the book.

Following a previous volume conceived as a manifesto for a regenerative architectural approach, Architectures Wallonie-Bruxelles Inventaires #5 2023–2026 – When Architecture Takes Action documents the transformations currently underway. Moving beyond statements of intent, the publication observes, documents and shares practices that concretely transform how we inhabit and conceive the territory.

Architecture in action

Inventaires #5 – When Architecture Takes Action highlights an architecture in action, one that goes beyond the mere production of forms to engage—through its processes as well as its positions—with contemporary challenges. The book gathers a selection of projects realised in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation between 2023 and 2026, revealing the diversity of current practices and key lines of inquiry, including how architecture can contribute to collective life, work with the existing built environment, and articulate ethics and aesthetics.

Launch evening

Conceived as a moment of encounter and exchange, the evening will bring together architects and authors for a presentation of the book and a discussion with the editorial committee, moderated by Audrey Contesse, Director of the ICA.

The event will be followed by a screening of the film L’architecture que nous sommes, directed by Karine Dana. As a sensitive extension of the publication, the film immerses viewers in ten inspiring projects, explored through their uses, the bodies that inhabit them, and the social experiences they generate. Between sensory experience and critical reflection, architecture appears here as a cosa vitale—a lived, relational and essential reality.
