On 25 May 2026, Adrien Verschuere, founder of the Brussels-based office Baukunst, was invited to a new edition of the Casabella Lectures in Milan.

Organised at Theatro Milano in collaboration with Casabellaformazione, the event formed part of a lecture series dedicated to contemporary practices questioning the conditions under which architecture is produced today.

Structure, form and construction process

Through this lecture, Adrien Verschuere presented the approach developed by Baukunst, in which the project is understood simultaneously as a critical and constructive process, articulating theoretical reflection, building culture and contemporary experimentation.

The discussion notably addressed the relationships between structure, form and construction processes, as well as the combined role of architecture and engineering in shaping built space.

Through its projects, Baukunst develops a practice attentive to notions of constructive rationality, permanence and transformation, in which technical detailing also becomes a tool for critical thinking and positioning.
