Architectural Lighting for the Antwerp Opera
- About
The lighting design for the Antwerp Opera aims to enhance all the façades of this classical building with elegance and restraint, while offering a range of lighting scenarios—both in white light and in color. These scenarios vary from subtle to highly expressive, reflecting and celebrating the Opera's artistic activity.
Whenever an event takes place, the light appears to "pass through the skin" of the façade, revealing the building's recesses, architectural depth, and various entrances.
During performances, circles of light illuminate the forecourt, creating a scenographic atmosphere. In this way, the audience becomes part of the performance—the spectators become actors.
