Book Launch in Basel

After its presentation in Brussels on 27 November 2024, SAM Basel will host the launch of the Soft Power publication . 10 years of Bouwmeester Maître Architecte in Brussels on Dedember 4th at 6 pm.

Kristiaan Borret's ten years and two mandates as Bouwmeester Maître Architecte (BMA) in Brussels cannot be summed up simply by describing the bricks that have been laid. Working and living in the city has also undergone a remarkable transformation over the last decade. Photographic essays, guest contributions and recordings of conversations between designers, users, clients and BMA staff during collective site visits show how the city is both built and lived. In so doing, it explores the confrontations between vision and materialisation, design and appropriation, as well as the formal and informal means - the soft power of the BMA - of making the city.
