While the exhibition of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Awards 2026 remains on view in Barcelona at the Palau Victòria Eugènia until 5 July, its international tour has already begun with a first stop in Bucharest, as part of Romanian Design Week.

The exhibition presented in Barcelona brings together original models, drawings, archival documents and audiovisual content, offering a comprehensive overview of the 2026 edition of the EUmies Awards. Presented as a photographic exhibition, the touring version features the seven finalist projects of this edition: the overall winner, Chapex, the Emerging Winner and the five other projects selected by the jury.

Together, these projects provide an insight into the transformations currently shaping European architecture, addressing themes such as adaptive reuse, the transformation of existing buildings, cultural infrastructures, public space and new ways of inhabiting territories.

This first stop marks the beginning of a new international journey that will take the exhibition to several cities across Europe and beyond, including Milan, Vienna, Vilnius, Oulu and Buenos Aires. The tour extends the mission of the EUmies Awards: to foster the circulation of ideas, encourage exchange and highlight projects that contribute to the long-term transformation of our built environment.
