Exhibition in Wroclaw

Mies van der Rohe Awards 2024

The exhibition of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture / Mies van der Rohe Awards 2024 that opened in Barcelona and has travelled to MadridVienna, Buenos Aires, Zagreb and Prague is now stopping in Wroclaw.

The Museum of Architecture in Wroclaw is hosting the exhibition in its 15th-century former St Bernardine of Sienna Church.

The exhibition presents the 362 nominated works of this edition, highlighting the 40 works shortlisted by the jury and presenting more detailed and extensive information about the winners and finalists. The exhibition shows how the architects want to express their own ideas and exploit the potential of what architecture can become in a society that is changing in a very radical way. It is a faithful picture of what architecture is today in relation to society.

This is an opportunity to (re)discover the four projects submitted by Belgian offices and included in this exhibition:

  • Amal Amjahid - Community installation along the canal in Molenbeek by &bogdan
  • Fire station, multi-purpose and emergency space by SNCDA
  • FLOW- Outdoor swimming pool by Pool is Coo land Decoratelier Jozef Wouters
  • Het Steen by noAarchitecte

On the occasion of the opening, Michał Duda, Director of the Museum, Ivan Blasi, EUmies Awards Director at Fundació Mies van der Rohe and Bartłomiej Balcerzy, Deputy Head of the European Commission Representation in Poland (Wrocław), will introduce the prize and its goals and achievements.

The exhibition also presents the videos and documentaries of the EUmies Awards as well as some of the latest publications wich you can also find here.
