Julien Lanoo invited to the Bread & Heart Festival in Tirana

© Bread & Heart Festival Belgian photographer Julien Lanoo will take part in the second edition of the Bread & Heart Festival, held in Tirana from 3 to 5 June 2026. This year’s theme, Landscapes of Abundance, brings together architects, urbanists, artists and researchers to explore the contemporary transformations of territories and landscapes.
On 4 June, Julien Lanoo will participate in Atmosession 1: Lens on Landscape, a discussion dedicated to the ways landscapes, cities and built environments are observed, represented and interpreted.
Photographing architecture through the lives of its inhabitants
Internationally recognised for his sensitive and human-centred approach to architectural photography, Julien Lanoo has spent many years exploring the relationships between people and the places they inhabit.
His work investigates the social, historical and material dimensions of the built environment, while revealing the often invisible connections between architecture, light, nature and use. Far from merely documenting buildings, his photographs question how spaces are experienced, appropriated and transformed by their occupants.
This approach has led him to document architectural projects, evolving neighbourhoods and transforming territories across the world, always with particular attention to the inhabitants and the stories that shape places.
