Programme

Turning an old auto garage into a bakery and neighborhood gathering place.

About

This project involves the conversion of a former garage into a bakery space inspired by the counters of traditional covered markets. Special attention was given to circulation flows and to the ways in which customers, workers, and passers-by can take ownership of the place, with careful consideration of the optimization of space and functions.

The original garage identity has been preserved through key elements such as sectional doors and various spaces and traces of the former activity, giving the place a unique and authentic character. The furniture was designed to refine and highlight the distinctive features of the site, ensuring clear legibility of the space.

Technical aspects have been deliberately left visible, making the construction elements and installations understandable to everyone and adding an educational dimension. Artisanal production is staged so as to be visible from the public space, integrated into the overall layout of the bakery, thus enhancing both the attractiveness and commercial appeal of this neighborhood business. This transparency creates a direct link with the public while reinforcing the brand image and identity of the site as both a functional and open space.
