Call for entries | Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam

The Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam is the world’s leading film festival dedicated to architecture and the city. The festival is always on the lookout for fresh, thoughtful, and boundary-pushing work that explores how architecture, cities, and society intersect on screen. 

Each October, it brings together filmmakers, designers, architects, and engaged audiences to explore the social, political, and cultural dimensions of the built environment through cinema.

The next edition of AFFR takes place from 7 – 25 October 2026. The festival locations are:

• Theater Rotterdam (Opening Night, 7 October 2026)
• LantarenVenster (regular festival screenings, 8 – 11 October 2026)
• Nieuwe Instituut (immersive media exhibition, 8 – 25 October 2026)

The festival welcomes submissions of all formats and genres, as long as there is a clear connection to architecture and the built environment. 

Film Submissions:

• Open until: 2 May 2026
• Notification: mid-August 2026
