Prolongation - Public Contracting Authority Prize of the FWB 2013
Launched in 2011, this biennial award is designed to recognise a project backer and a best practice applied within the framework of a public architecture project within the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, that stand out due to the exemplary nature of the process implemented and/or the constancy of the approach adopted by the developer.
The prize has been broken down into four categories – Public facilities / Culture, sport and education / Public housing / Public spaces – and a Special Prize to help the jury, comprised of external experts and public officials representing the communes and regions, to select the winners and nominees. The winner of each category will be the subject of a publication drawn up by the Architecture Unit of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and will be handed a brass plate to be displayed on the building.Submission till 20 August 2013.The results will be announced in October.An initiative of the Architecture Unit of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, with the support of the Order of Architects – French-speaking and German-speaking Council and the Belgian architecture journal A+, in partnership with the Union of the Towns and Communes of Wallonia and the Association of the City and Communes of the Brussels-Capital Region, in charge of communication.
