EUmies Awards 2022 exhibition in Mextrópoli
The exhibition of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Awards 2022, which was inaugurated in Barcelona and which has already traveled to Cologne, Brussels, Vienna, London and Ebeltoft, is now stopping inMexico City before also traveling to Guadalajara and Dublin.
This is a special occasion, as the exhibition takes place in the context of Mextrópoli, the most important Architecture and City Festival in America, which brings together more than 80,000 people designing cities: students, citizens, professionals, tourists, creatives, officials, artists, opinion leaders and experts in the field, to generate knowledge, exchange and a new vision of the city through architecture.It activates reflection and the exchange of experiences through conferences, exhibitions, dialogue tables, workshops with experts, installations in public space, routes and specialized tours, book presentations and other events.It turns Mexico City into a powerful cultural, tourist and citizen attraction, by promoting reflection on: housing, mobility, public space, equity,among other topics of urban interest.It is the meeting of culture through architecture.
The exhibition has been adapted to the unique spaces of the Centro Cultural de España en México (CCEMx), a colonial building renovated in 2019 by JSª + a|91, next to the 16th-19th century Metropolitan Cathedral.
