About/Content

The Performance & Performativity exhibition reveals the work of Brussels architecture office Baukunst, founded by Adrien Verschuere in 2008. Despite the small number of built designs, Baukunst’s practice is intriguing. Its activity is located on the border between architecture and science, technology and form, construction (Bau) and art (Kunst), exploring each of these areas through design and research. Baukunst is thus driven by a dual ambition: the in-depth search for a language between fiction and reality on the one hand, and the definition of architecture’s social role on the other.

The Performance & Performativity exhibition aims to depict the multiple ties and collaborative practices that support the projects at BAUKUNST. Models, mechanisms, photographs and various videos illustrate the firm’s recent work and immerse the public in the firm’s unique world of artistic, philosophical and technical references.
