About: The renovation project for ‘La vallée des fées’, located on the first floor of a building dating from the 1970s, has increased the nursery's capacity from two to three sections, for a total of 45 cots. The main views from the nursery face south, providing a backdrop of garden and urban parkland, while the north façade provides diffused light through slender horizontal windows. The layout and allocation of the spaces were carefully studied in conjunction with the nursery nurses. Three development areas with changing alcoves dedicated to the different age groups are located on the south façade and benefit from the terrace. The acoustic treatment and ceiling volumes have been designed to create identifiable and perceptible spaces, contributing to a soothing and welcoming atmosphere. The fixed wooden furniture has been strategically placed to incorporate storage, alcoves, seating and games. The three sections are interspersed with an experimentation and motor room, a kitchen and a nursery. The dormitories, located under the lowest roof, at a distance from the living areas, benefit from diffuse northern light.
