- About
The Vanderboght House (1895, arch.: Jules Brunfaut – listed building) is located on the Place Jean Jacobs, a square dominated by the Palais de Justice and surrounded on the south side by remarkable buildings, all with a strong heritage value. The eclectic style building is presented as a simple volume and the two street facades provide a classical layout with a horizontal rhythm, in a sober eclecticism. Historically, the building was designed to house a lawyer's office and reception areas on the first floor. The upper floors were intended for the owner's living spaces.
Strategically located, the project aims to transform this unoccupied building into the "lawyer's house", a training centre for seminars for French-speaking lawyers at the Brussels Bar. The building is invested as a single entity that will allow the building to go through the floors to restore access to the prestigious character of the building while guaranteeing its functional qualities. Therefore, like the beautiful floor, imposing where white and red marble, moldings, stained-glass doors, a wooden arch, ornate capitals and Art Nouveau style décor are mixed; The floors are highlighted as reception and courtyard spaces.
