Construction of Two Classrooms and Redevelopment of the Surroundings of Aurore School
- About
The redevelopment of the Aurore School in Jette involves two main components: the construction of two new classrooms to replace an outdated RTG pavilion scheduled for demolition, and the enhancement of the surrounding landscape.
An analysis of the site's existing and potential qualities allows for a clear subdivision into distinct zones, each offering specific spatial and functional characteristics that enrich the school's pedagogical rhythm: a landscaped promenade that structures the site, shared spaces with the neighboring school and local residents, the stairway-path marking the pupils’ access to the classrooms, and more intimate wild gardens.
The two new classrooms reinforce the landscape intervention. Filling a gap created by the site’s slope and the presence of the existing pavilion, they connect directly to its corridor and are organized around a patio, which provides a privileged outdoor space and generous natural light.
