After stops in Barcelona, Bilbao, Girona, Lugano, Brussels, Luxembourg, Tarragona and Logroño, the seventh edition of the Cities Connection Project exhibition will be coming to Madrid. It will be on show at the Gaviota space designed by BURR from 25 June to 11 July.

Cities Connection Project (CCP) is a project that promotes exchanges between architects from different cities and regions. For its seventh edition, on the theme of ‘Architectures in Transition, Reuse of the Built Heritage and Social Responsibility’, CCP is bringing together high-quality architectural and urban projects from the Barcelona metropolitan area, Wallonia-Brussels, Luxembourg and the Grand-Est region.

These projects are paving the way for the transition to a more ethical building culture, with controlled environmental and social impacts. By opting for rehabilitation rather than demolition, by using sustainable and environmentally-friendly construction systems, and by reusing building materials, architects are beginning to realise their essential role as socially responsible players. For several years now, building culture has been undergoing a transition towards more responsible, environmentally-friendly architecture. This vital transition in architecture will be long and full of obstacles, but it will be irreversible.
