Studio SNCDA presents the Endymion project at the Luxembourg Architecture Days

© Philippe Braquennier On Saturday, September 20, at 4:30 p.m., Studio SNCDA invites you to a guided tour of the Endymion project as part of Luxembourg Architecture Days, scheduled from September 19 to 28.
Endymion, an urban garden
Designed as a synesthetic experience, the Endymion project is composed of essential elements and minimal interventions.
An allegory of the Greek myth of the quest for the ideal garden, it draws on the history of the site and is complemented by three objects, each offering a different way of inhabiting the space:
- the flag – the wind: an oversized flagpole, made of highly reflective silver material, captures and diffuses light, signaling the presence of the garden;
- the fireplace – the fire: a hearth around which to gather, conducive to conversation and collective reverie;
- the fountain – water: water flows into a basin, reflecting the landscape and becoming both a drinking trough and a playground.
Plant and material concept
In the context of the climate crisis and ecological transition, the project embraces the dry garden model rather than the traditional lawn. The pozzolan soil promotes drainage, limits watering, and stabilizes temperatures. The objects combine different metals, designed to last and be dismantled/reused after the event.
The plant palette is designed as a constellation of allelopathic and aromatic plants that are self-balancing, require little maintenance, and retain a color tone that works both day and night.
