Raising buildings is an excellent opportunity to thermally improve existing buildings and to densify the built environment, in order to reduce both the consumption of space and the energy used for heating and commuting. In this field, wood offers numerous advantages, which this richly illustrated book sets out to detail, offering a complete description of wooden elevation techniques. The book is printed in full colour and includes a theoretical section followed by a detailed presentation of 30 examples of built structures (single-family homes, apartment buildings, industrial buildings, school buildings). The roof extension project of the office Atelier d'Architecture AIUD is included in this publication.
