Ouest. Urban Legend

Urban Legend - Ouest
© Lien Van Leemput

Urban Legend offers a generous insight into the work and methods of Ouest, an architectural office based in Brussels, founded in 2009 by Stéphane Damsin and Jan Haerens.

Driven by a fascination with the city, they work with what’s already there in an enthusiastic, respectful and uninhibited way. Their projects seek to strengthen the urban dynamics while modestly trying to answer the big question: how can we live together?

With essays by Stéphane Damsin and Jan Haerens, Colm mac Aoidh, Hülya Ertas, Carla Frick-Cloupet and Gideon Boie.

An immersion into the living city

Beyond the publication, the exhibition Urban Legend - Ouest in Bozar invites visitors to experience the office's vision of the city through five built or ongoing projects. The exhibition immerses the audience in an urban universe conceived as a living organism, composed of layers, stories and intertwined narratives.

Blending urbanism, art and literature, Urban Legend explores how cities tell their stories and continuously reinvent themselves. It highlights the role of the architect as a spatial storyteller, capable of shaping narratives that connect past and future, memory and innovation.

Discover the exhibition from October 15, 2025, to January 4, 2026.
