MAMOUT: Cities Connection Project Conference in Lugano
© Mamout architectes The Cities Connection Project exhibition continues its itinerancy and will stop at the Istituto internazionale d'architettura in Lugano from 29 November 2019 to 24 February 2020. On this occasion, Sébastien Dachy, MAMOUT architects, whose Charles Malis project appears in the exhibition Import WB _Export BCN. Re-activate the city will give the inaugural conference.
The Charles Malis building is located in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, a multicultural and dense municipality located in the northern part of Brussels. The request for the competition was to transform an industrial site - a cigarette production plant - into a local administrative office with a waiting room, 12 counters and administrative offices. A challenge taken up by a trio of designers in joint ventures: LD2 architecture, MAMOUT architects and Stéphanie Willocx, architect.
The Brussels office MAMOUT architectes is developing a vision of sustainable architecture based on the economics of materials. Focused on the conservation of existing buildings and the use of reusable materials in circular economies, this approach makes it possible to minimize the grey energy of projects while providing unprecedented added value to architecture.
