ROTOR participates in Swiss Biennial of Territory in Lugano
© i2a The Swiss Biennale of Territory organized by i2a International Institute of Architecture is an event with an international appeal that contributes to the debate on social, economic and territorial changes taking place within today's society.
The theme chosen for the new 2020 edition, which will take place in Lugano from 1st to 3rd October, is that of "reuse": To the ideology of consumption, renewal and waste, the i2a Biennial - under the direction of Ludovica Molo, Caspar Schärer, Cyril Veillon, Ariane Widmer Pham - opposes the one of continuity, duration and renewal. It invites us to project the narrative of memory into the future, to think of the present as a state of transition, to transform, divert, revive rather than destroy, forget and rebuild.
After two editions devoted to territorial changes, the 2020 Biennial invites thinkers, urban planners, architects, landscape designers to present and discuss projects for the reuse of parts of the city, heritage complexes, abandoned areas. The speakers, including ROTOR, will present the methods and processes put in place to build in a perspective of sustainable continuity.
