On the occasion of the 2026 World Capital of Architecture, Cities Connection Project presents a critical revisiting of fifteen years of architectural exchanges between Barcelona and numerous European and international territories.

Since 2012, CCP has established itself as a networking platform connecting emerging architecture practices, cultural institutions, and audiences, exploring contemporary urban transformations through cross-perspectives and comparative approaches.

The 2026 edition brings together more than 300 local and international architecture practices in an exhibition structured around cross-cutting themes. It offers a broad perspective on how cities evolve through public architecture, understood as a form of social and cultural commitment. The exhibition will be enhanced by digital content and augmented reality features.

Conceived as a modular and travelling exhibition format, the project is designed to circulate beyond Barcelona after 2026.

In parallel, the talk series 2+2 Close Encounters will foster long-term dialogue by bringing together Catalan and international practices in different urban contexts.

We would be honored to welcome you to celebrate these 15 years of architectural dialogue.
