© WBA The contacts established between Wallonia-Brussels Architectures and the COAM – Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid are already proving fruitful. These exchanges pave the way for greater visibility of the architectural expertise of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation within a major initiative: Madrid2050.
Madrid2050: a platform to anticipate urban transformation
COAM is deeply involved in the Madrid2050 Forum, a collaborative platform that officially launched its work by bringing together more than 90 entities from across the construction sector’s value chain: public administrations, companies, universities, professional bodies and social organisations.
Facing an anticipated population growth of more than one million new inhabitants by 2040, Madrid2050 structures its work around four groups:
- Habitability and Housing
- Mobility and Infrastructure
- Public Space and Facilities
- Regeneration and Rehabilitation
Their shared objective is clear: to anticipate concrete responses to the urban, social and environmental challenges the Madrid region will face over the next fifteen years.
