Wallonie-Bruxelles Architecture, in collaboration with the Wallonia-Brussels General Delegation in Madrid, invites you yo the screening of the documentary Beyond the Pavilion by Mister Emma on April 15, 2026, at 18:30, at Mecal Hall (C/ Llull 105) in Barcelona.

This screening is part of Barcelona, World Capital of Architecture 2026. It is the first activity in the program of the delegation of French-speaking Belgian architects and brings together more than 40 architects. It marks the beginning of two days dedicated to visits and meetings with local professionals, offering a unique opportunity for exchange and for discovering the Belgian architectural ecosystem.

About the film

Beyond the Pavilion traces the journeys of five Walloon architects, each of whom designed the Belgian pavilion for major international events such as the World Expo or the Floriade. Through these projects, the film highlights unique architectural approaches and showcases the evolution toward an architecture that is sustainable, innovative, and meaningful.

Among the featured architects, Patrick Genard, designer of the Belgian Pavilion for Expo Milan 2015 and based in Barcelona, presents his work as an example of innovation and sustainability.

Discussion and exchanges

Following the screening, a discussion will take place with Mister Emma, the film’s director, and Patrick Genard, offering the audience an opportunity to explore the themes of the documentary and Belgian architectural practices on the international stage.

The event will conclude with a networking drink.
