Atelier DEV is an architecture, urban planning and landscape practice based in Brussels, and also active in Berlin and Paris. Founded by Julien Deloffre and Pierre Escobar, the office develops a transversal practice that explores space in its full breadth — from constructed detail to urban strategies — with a particular focus on the city, its uses and its contemporary challenges.
We approach architecture as a material that is at once physical, cultural and political, capable of activating social dynamics, revealing what already exists and transforming inhabited environments. Our method is grounded in a culture of reuse, frugality and the valorisation of the existing, embedding each project within a sustainable, circular and resource-conscious perspective.
Drawing on complementary backgrounds that combine research, professional practice and teaching, Atelier DEV employs methods based on investigation, collaboration and interdisciplinary openness. This approach allows us to enrich every project with a critical, sensitive and deeply contextual viewpoint.
The office is engaged in numerous public and private projects in architecture, urban planning, landscape design, scenography and interior and exterior design. Atelier DEV is also active in the academic field, notably at Berlin International University, where Pierre Escobar teaches interior architecture and spatial design.
