Programme
The proposed extension of this single family home was from the start, closely linked to assessments of the existing dwelling built by the same owner 20 years ago.
About
Beside a conventional construction, heavy and energetically inefficient, the extension offers a wood-frame construction to a considerable isolation; its lightness is appropriate to the basement and presents a favorable ecological balance. A living / dining room, kitchen and bedrooms upstairs occupies this volume consists of two trays fully opened allowing flexibility for development. The simple volume and pierced by many windows illustrates the flexibility of the interior space but also a willingness to be open to the surrounding vegetation. The finishes also reflect the simple character, flexible and environmentally satisfactory. Wood, present in various forms - solid, boards, panels or laminated - is left visible.
