A publication dedicated to the transformation of the Palais des Expositions

Take On Add Away explores the transformation of the Palais des Expositions in Charleroi, an architectural project that questions the potential for reusing and adapting existing built heritage.

Through this publication, the work undertaken by AgwA and architecten jan de vylder inge vinck finds a new editorial expression, contributing to the international dissemination of their approach to architectural transformation.

Recognition among 248 international publications

Now in its 18th consecutive year, the DAM Architectural Book Award recognises the most outstanding architecture publications of the year.

For the 2026 edition, 248 books submitted by 99 international publishing houses were reviewed by a jury of specialists in architecture, publishing, graphic design and photography.

The selection criteria included the quality of the content, graphic design, materials, production, innovation and relevance of the subjects addressed.

Faced with the diversity and quality of the submissions, the jury selected ten winning books, alongside ten additional publications for its shortlist. The award ceremony took place on 7 October 2026 at the Deutsches Architekturmuseum in Frankfurt.
