About

The MontLégia Clinic, inaugurated in March 2020, is located on the site of the former Patience and Beaujonc industrial brownfield in Liège.
Once occupied by ArcelorMittal, this transforming territory now hosts a major healthcare hub, converting an industrial landscape into a place of care.

The project results from the merger of three institutions within the CHC group, brought together in a single building.
This centralisation enables the pooling of expertise and the organisation of care within a clear and legible structure.

The development of the site is accompanied by a reconfiguration of access.
A new bridge, motorway slip roads, and a roundabout open up the site while limiting disturbances to the surrounding neighbourhoods.

The building is organised around a cruciform structure, designed to optimise circulation and bring functions closer together.
At its core, a “medical street” structures the flows and differentiates the routes of patients, visitors, and staff.
Conceived as a true interior public space, it forms the backbone of the project.

Despite the scale of the programme, careful attention is paid to human scale and use.
The volumes remain controlled, and each room benefits from generous openings onto the landscape of the Meuse valley.
Natural light and views contribute significantly to the quality of the care environment.
