Programme

Two distinct interventions: on one hand, the renovation of a building, and on the other, the construction of a house within the inner block. Both are connected by a wide passageway leading to Rue de l’Harmonie in the center of Brussels.

The project enhances the existing setting without altering its essence. Depth and distant viewpoints allow for abundant natural light and a sense of openness to the outdoors. A dialogue is established between the existing structure, rich in spatial complexity, and the new interventions, which are precise and adapted to each specific case.

The renovation of the street-facing building distinguishes three apartments, each with a strong identity. Materials express themselves through their texture, color, and arrangement.

The house is arranged in an L-shape, with a curved wall embracing a landscaped garden. The garden-level floor ensures fluid circulation and a direct connection to the outdoors.
