About: This project concerns the redevelopment of a public park in the heart of a former industrial urban block in Brussels. The aim is to create a new island of freshness within this popular, densely built-up neighborhood. In addition to new landscaping and recreational facilities, the project also addresses the surrounding public space by introducing a new forecourt. The edges of the park, defined by the party walls of existing dwellings, are densely planted to enhance the presence of vegetation and to establish a green buffer that promotes the development of new biodiversity on the site. Located at the far end of the park, slightly overhanging, a new canopy has been designed to engage the full depth of the space and provide a destination for parties or sports activities in the neighborhood.
