OUEST invited to the closing conference of Cities Connection Project in Barcelona

© Close Encounters - Arquitectura Comparada As part of the closing programme of the Cities Connection Project exhibition in Barcelona,Stéphane Damsin, from the Brussels-based office OUEST, will take part in a new edition of Close Encounters, a series of discussions dedicated to contemporary issues in architecture, the city and public space.
The event forms part of Cities Connection Project: 15 Years of Comparative Architecture, developed in the context of Barcelona World Capital of Architecture 2026. Bringing together 202 contemporary projects, the exhibition explores urban transformations through several thematic lenses, including public space, a central topic in current debates on the future of cities.
Alongside Sara Ferran (Taller 11, Barcelona) and Thierry Buache (Subjets/Objects, Geneva), OUEST will reflect on its experiences and discuss the challenges facing European cities today: urban transformation, adaptive reuse of the built heritage, housing, public space, sustainability and new ways of inhabiting.
The office will notably present its approach to urban design as well as SKA, a facility recently inaugurated in Brussels, whose questions of transformation and use resonate with the themes explored in the exhibition Urban Legend.
The discussion will be moderated by Marta Milà and preceded by a guided visit of the exhibition, which retraces fifteen years of exchanges between architecture, territories and urban cultures through a selection of projects from different European contexts.
