IABR–2018+2020–THE MISSING LINK Call for Practices

The Curator Team of IABR–2018+2020–THE MISSING LINK, Floris Alkemade, Leo Van Broeck en Joachim Declerck, calls on innovative practices from around the globe to participate from the Spring of 2018 until the Summer of 2020 in The Missing Link: a three-year program of knowledge sharing, peer supervision, and research by design that includes presentations, exchange and debate in the context of the biennales of 2018 and 2020.

This experimental program aims to see practices from various domains and continents and with different backgrounds share insights, breakthroughs, and innovative methods, and subsequently to explore together and, where possible, test how innovative action-driven design practices can help us make the transition leap to a more resilient future, to a living environment that is well balanced with the capacity of the planet.

The curators invite innovative practices that are active in architecture, urban and neighborhood development, and spatial and environmental planning as well as in policy development, knowledge sharing and development, climate change, energy transition, water management, food production, creative agency and industry, impact investment, and social enterprise.
