Tallinn Architecture Biennale TAB 2026

© WBA The Curatorial Competition for TAB 2026 is Now Open!
On 10 July, the Estonian Centre for Architecture launched an international curatorial competition to select the lead curatorial team for the eighth edition of the Tallinn Architecture Biennale (TAB) 2026.
Established in 2011, TAB is Estonia’s leading international festival dedicated to architecture and the built environment, with its opening week scheduled for 9–13 September 2026.
The competition seeks a curatorial team with a compelling vision to shape the main concept of TAB 2026 and curate the festival’s Core Programme, which comprises the Curatorial Exhibition, the Symposium, the Tallinn Vision Competition, and the official TAB catalogue.
Open to both Estonian and international participants, the TAB Curatorial Competition invites submissions from a wide range of practitioners and thinkers, including architects, interior designers, landscape architects, urban planners, and scholars in architecture and art history. Proposals from interdisciplinary teams are particularly encouraged. Each team must include at least one professional architect, urban planner, or landscape or interior designer.
The selected curatorial team will be responsible for defining the central concept of TAB 2026, which should engage with spatial and architectural issues while maintaining a strong link to the Estonian context and the broader Baltic and Nordic architectural landscape. The theme must be conceptually robust, contemporary, relevant to the local architectural community, and capable of fostering international dialogue.
