Call for participants: Master class for master students&young professionals
RE:WORK Making place for industry, logistics and wholesale in Brussels
With the introduction of the fordist concept of zoning, industry and urbanity have gradually been considered as separate questions. Yet today, Brussels' economic and demographic situation induce a need to both nurture new industrial activities and a more diverse economy, while creating new housing on its finite and already dense territory. The RE:WORK International Master Class will therefore focus on one central question: how can we integrate industry and urbanity? Master students and young graduates from all over Europe will gather under guidance of architecture and urbanism agency GRAU (FR) and research-based consultancy company Idea Consult (BE), to search and experiment new forms of urban hybridization, thus bringing manufacture and industry back into the urban debate and contributing in the development of a new urban economic model.
