Construction of a new student residence and apartment building
- About
The project is located on Avenue de la Couronne in Brussels. The existing buildings on the site were formerly occupied by the postal services (offices, sorting centre, parking facilities, storage areas, etc.). The geometrically complex plot is fully built up.
The development comprises a 71-room student residence with shared facilities located at the rear of the block, a residential building containing 13 apartments facing Avenue de la Couronne, and an underground car park providing 12 parking spaces and 16 bicycle spaces, complemented by 102 bicycle parking spaces at ground level.
A landscaped garden, set at a lower level than Avenue de la Couronne, acts as the unifying element between the buildings. Access to the student rooms is provided externally (via staircases, terraces, etc.). This configuration establishes a strong identity, offers residents a generous planted environment, and addresses environmental concerns (rainwater harvesting, etc.). The housing units arranged around this central garden create a calm and high-quality living environment.
