Construction of an apartment building (corner building) nine apartments low energy
- About
The proposal seeks to emphasise the corner condition; the building rises to ground floor plus three levels (G+3) and accommodates nine housing units.
The façade is composed of zinc cassettes that articulate and highlight the corner. The project also led to a significant technical upgrade. Following further analysis by the engineering consultants and the architects, the client decided to reassess the scheme in light of enhanced energy performance objectives.
Thermal insulation was reinforced throughout (façades, window frames and roof). A central low-temperature boiler and a double-flow mechanical ventilation system replaced the former individual installations. Particular attention was also paid to the specification of glazing and window frames in order to ensure adequate acoustic comfort in the bedrooms, especially those facing Chaussée de Ninove.
