Call : Design TAC! Pavillion - Valencia&San Sebastian

TAC!, Urban Architecture Festival, will turn different Spanish cities into a space for innovation and experimentation. This will be carried out through the construction of a temporary pavilion in each city chosen through an open competition. València and Donostia-San Sebastián, the host cities of TAC!

in 2023, will unite contemporary architecture, young creative practices, and urban and social reflection through meetings and activities around the pavilion that will establish a dialogue with the public. Both proposals will launch a reflection on the role of architecture in the challenges facing the urban environment in the current context of climate emergency.

The second edition of the festival will be held on the following dates: VALÈNCIA → 14 SEP. / 16 OCT. 2023 DONOSTIA — SAN SEBASTIÁN → 10 OCT. / 13 NOV. 2023

The Directorate General of Urban Agenda and Architecture of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility, and Urban Agenda (MITMA), in collaboration with the Arquia Foundation, is organising this call for ideas aimed at young architects up to the age of 45.

TAC! in 2023 has the collaboration of València City Council, Vlc Urban Strategy 2030, Missions and Las Naves in València; and the Housing Department of the Basque Government, Habic, Mugak/ International Architecture Biennial of the Basque Country, and the Basque Country Architecture Institute (IAE/EAI) in Donostia-San Sebastián.

Following the jury’s decision, the creators of the winning proposal will receive a prize of €12,000 (VAT included) and will be able to carry out the project with an estimated base budget of up to a maximum of €90,000 (VAT included) for the construction of the pavilion, which may be increased through sponsorship contributions. The competition includes the design of the pavilion and, for the winning team, themanagement of its execution. The TAC! festival will collaborate in the production and construction of the winning proposal in coordination with the selected team.
